2020-2021 Season - Preliminary Details

We appreciate your patience as we work through the planning process for the 2020-2021 season. Thank you for taking the time to complete the survey we sent out and to provide us with feedback. Since our last email, MWC board members have had several meetings and attended the USAW-KS district III and state body meetings. There will be many changes to this season so please bear with us as we pass information to you.

Our previous practice location (National Guard Armory) will not be available to us until further notice. We have, however, secured an alternate practice location for this season. Due to safety protocols and precautions, smaller facility space and restricted capacity for athletes/coaches/volunteers, club registration will be limited.

Registration (link on "Club Registration" page of this website) is now open, as follows: returning Manhattan Wrestling Club families must complete registration by Sunday, November 8th; all new wrestlers that complete registration will be placed on a waiting list. After November 8th, we will evaluate our returning club participation numbers and determine how many new wrestlers we can accommodate this year.

MWC Wrestler's Registration 2020-2021 Season

Once registration is closed, MWC coaches will create practice groups according to age and/or ability. Official practice is expected to begin the week of Monday, November 30th. We will share practice details and protocols, via email, by Friday, November 20th.

Unfortunate expectations for this year are that we won't have a free clinic, the number of athletes we can accept in the wrestling program will be lower than usual, we won't be able to host our home tournament and based on communication with other wrestling clubs throughout the state, there will not be many opportunities for our wrestlers to compete on a local level. Please keep your eyes out for additional communication from us as we will be sending out more updates in the coming weeks.
